Since our chartering in 1945, we have proudly served the Greater Milwaukee community with a steadfast commitment to public service, social justice, education, health equity, and youth empowerment. Guided by our national theme, “Elevating Every Voice, Empowering Every Generation,” we strive to be a consistent and compassionate presence in the lives of those we serve.
Our work is rooted in the belief that when we lift voices that have long gone unheard and invest in every generation—young and seasoned—we build stronger, more vibrant communities. Whether mentoring students, providing scholarships, hosting health and wellness forums, or mobilizing voters, our goal is to foster a positive, lasting impact.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. focuses its community service efforts through Five-Point Programmatic Thrusts, which serve as the organization's foundational initiatives:
Educational Development
Programs that promote academic excellence, scholarship, and lifelong learning (e.g., Delta GEMS, Delta Academy,
EMBODI, scholarships).
Economic Development
Initiatives aimed at financial literacy, wealth building, and entrepreneurship (e.g., financial planning workshops,
homeownership seminars).
International Awareness and Involvement
Projects that foster global understanding and service (e.g., Delta House in Swaziland, international relief efforts).
Physical and Mental Health
Activities that promote healthy lifestyles and mental wellness (e.g., health fairs, breast cancer awareness, HIV/AIDS
prevention, and mental health education).
Political Awareness and Involvement
Civic engagement and advocacy efforts (e.g., voter registration drives, Delta Days at the Nation’s Capital and United
Nations, public policy forums).
We value collaboration, connection, and community. If you are a local resident, community partner, or simply seeking ways to get involved in service that matters, know there is space for you here. Together, we can build a healthier, more equitable Milwaukee.
Thank you for your interest in our chapter. We invite you to explore our programs, attend events, and partner with us in service and purpose.
