Welcome Sorors and Friends!

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 by 22 collegiate young women. As you can see to have founded an organization that is now over 100 years old, these young women exemplified phenomenal vision, wisdom, and courage. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., an organization consisting of predominantly Black women, continues to exemplify these same qualities in its current leadership.
Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter began as Beta Tau in 1945. Continuing with the vision, wisdom, and courage of our dynamic Founders, the sorors who chartered Beta Tau, found it necessary to establish a vehicle by which sorors could serve the Milwaukee community. The character of vision, wisdom, and courage continues.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. serves the community, locally, nationally, and globally through its Five Point Programmatic Thrust which includes: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
Our chapter will focus on Milwaukee’s 53206 zip code area over the next two years. This area has been noted as an area with the most incarcerated African American men among other statistics that do not promote the quality of life for its citizens. As a chapter, we plan to address the National Five Point Programmatic Thrust by implementing some of the following activities in the 53206 zip code area:
• Economic Development – Supporting local Black businesses
• Educational Development – Implementing our legendary youth programs: Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, and EMBODI in some of our 53206 schools.
• International Awareness – Supporting the sorority’s national efforts in this area and help citizens in the 53206 understand the global spectrum.
• Physical and Mental Health – Participating in the various walk/run events to raise funding for dedicated causes and promote physical and mental health in the 53206 communities and in our sisterhood.
• Political Awareness and Involvement – Continuing to support our adopted polling site at Clinton Rose Senior Center and promote advocacy among our citizens in the 53206 communities.
We ask that you hold us accountable to these causes. We expect to post our progress as we serve.
